KURSK STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
Kursk state medical university was established in 1935 is a public university. Kursk State Medical University is one of the largest and oldest universities in Kursk and the leading medical educational organizations in Russia. It is rightfully considered the educational, scientific and cultural center of the Chernozem region.
Today, about 19 thousand people study at the university, of which more than 7,000 are students receiving higher education; about 900 are students of the system of secondary vocational education; more than 500 residents and graduate students; more than 10,000 are healthcare and higher education specialists studying under additional education programs. Every year, almost 1,000 applicants become students of the medical university. Education, depending on the profile of the specialty and the form of education, is carried out at 12 faculties of KSMU in 78 basic educational programs.
Kursk Medical University has nine educational buildings equipped with educational and scientific equipment, six comfortable student dormitories united in a campus. As it happened historically, the main scientific and pedagogical unit of the university is the department. Currently, the university has 65 departments. Clinical departments were created and are located on the basis of medical institutions of the regional center. Very Important Note:

Indian Citizens/Overseas Citizen of India intending to obtain primary medical qualification from any medical institution outside India, on or after May 2018, shall have to mandatorily qualify the ‘National -Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test for Admission to MBBS course.
Furthermore, the result of NEET shall be valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of declaration of result. - No foreign medical graduate shall be granted permanent registration, unless he has–
- undergone a course leading to foreign medical degree with minimum duration of fifty- four (54) months.
- undergone an internship for a minimum duration of twelve months in the same foreign medical institution
- Received a foreign medical degree with medium of instructions in English; and
- studied the mandatory subjects specified in the Schedule-I;
- registered with the respective professional regulatory body or otherwise, competent to grant license to practice medicine in their respective jurisdiction of the country in which the medical degree is awarded and at par with the license to practice medicine given to citizen of that country;
- undergone supervised internship in India for a minimum term of twelve months, after applying for the same to the Commission; and
- has cleared the National Exit Test or such other mandated test or tests conducted by the Commission.
Hostel Information of KSMU
KSMU provides enough places in the hostels for all international students with comfortable living condition and affordable annual fee. Out of 6 (six) blocks of students hostel, 3 (three) modern hostels available for international students are very close to the University (about 5 to 10 minutes walking distance). All hostels are supplied with cold and hot water and central heating system, each room contains beds, a desk, chairs and storage space.
At present there are 5 hostels in KSMU. Foreign students live in hostels No. 1, 4, 5 and the pharm. collage hostel. All hostels are situated close to the University and are supplied with central heating, cold and hot water and the necessary furniture. Good living conditions, location near the University and reasonable fees make hostels the best place to stay. In every hostel there is a tutor who works with foreign students.
There are 2 types of room provided:
2 sitters room ( one room shared by 2 students)
3 sitters room (one room shared by 3 students)
Of course students are free to choose either to live in the hostel or outdoors. There are many apartments available in Kursk region in affordable price. More than 20% of the international students live outdoors.
